Meetings

Connect a calendar and Veda shows your week, counts down to each meeting, and puts a small card up when it starts with who's in it and the call link.

Connect a calendar first

Meetings need a calendar. Open Veda, go to Connections, and connect Google Calendar (Mac and Windows) or Apple Calendar (Mac). See Connections. Until you do, the Meetings page shows Connect a calendar.

Veda only reads your calendar. It never accepts, moves or changes a meeting.

The Meetings page

Open Veda and click Meetings in the sidebar.

  • The week — a strip of seven days with a dot for each meeting. Use the arrows to move a week back or forward, and Today to come back.
  • The day — every meeting on the day you pick, with its time and who's in it. A meeting that's on right now is marked Now, and one you haven't replied to is marked Not answered.
  • The meeting — click one to see when it is, who set it up, everyone invited (with their local time when it's different from yours, and the latest from your conversations with them), the agenda from the invite, and where it is.

Below the meetings is a list of your recent meeting notes and New notes for a call that isn't on your calendar. Click a note — here, or the Notes row on its meeting — and it opens over the Meetings page.

The countdown

A few minutes before a meeting (5, unless you change it), Veda starts counting down:

  • On a Mac, the meeting's name and the minutes left appear in the menu bar beside a ring that fills up — rose before it starts, green while it's on — and "ended" for five minutes after.
  • On Windows, the ring goes around the Veda tray icon, and hovering it says how long is left.

Click it (on Windows, open the tray panel) for a card with the time, a progress bar, who's in it, and Join and Take notes — or Open notes once it's over. To hide it for one meeting, right-click it and choose Hide for this meeting on a Mac, or use Hide for this meeting on the card on Windows. Choose when it starts, or turn it off, under Settings on the Meetings page.

The meeting card

When the countdown reaches the start, a small card appears — in the top-right corner on a Mac, above the tray on Windows. It shows even with the countdown off, unless you turn the card off. It has:

  • Join, when the invite has a call link.
  • Who's in it — their local time if it isn't yours, and the latest from memory: something waiting on you, or your last exchange.
  • The agenda from the invite.
  • Take notes.

The card is put together on your computer. Nothing on it is sent to the AI.

Screen sharing: the card asks your computer to leave it out of screen sharing and recordings. Not every app honours that, so if you're already in another meeting when the card appears, what's from memory is folded away until you click Show.

The countdown card, the menu-bar panel and the meeting card follow your system's light or dark mode; the main Veda window stays light.

In the menu bar or tray

Click the Veda icon to see the rest of today's meetings, or tomorrow's once today's are done. Click one to open it on the Meetings page, or the camera icon to join the call.

Elsewhere in Veda

  • Brief starts with today's meetings, plus anything worth a look: double bookings, back-to-back runs, meetings with no agenda and invites you haven't answered.
  • Ask Veda answers questions like "what's on tomorrow?" or "when's my call with Priya?".
  • Replies about finding a time offer your free times.

Privacy

Your meetings are read on your computer. Only what a brief, an answer or a reply needs goes to the AI, and only when you ask for it. See Privacy.
