What counts as a request
Each answer the AI writes for you counts as one:

A double-tap doesn't waste a request: Veda waits a moment after the first tap, so if a second one follows, nothing is sent until you've finished speaking.
When the trial ends
After 7 days, or once the 150 requests are used, Veda stops writing. The next time you press the key, it opens Settings → Plan & usage so you can subscribe to Veda Pro (1,000 requests a month), or click Compare plans for Veda Max (3,000), and carry on exactly as in the trial. The AI stays included.
Nothing is lost when the trial ends. Your settings, rules, presets and learned writing style are on your computer and are still there when you carry on.
